Forever in My Heart somehow manages to be both sweet and sexy--a perfect mix! So enjoyed Maria K. Alexander's first book, but loved this story even more. Was really cool to see Vicky sort of grow up, and get her view rather than her older sister Kate's—the sisters' relationship and family dynamics on both sides were interesting. They've all got a lot to contend with but the story speeds along. Just loved hardworking Vicky, and Jamie is to die for—tool belt and all! Great mix of tough guy and sweetheart. Highly recommend for a feel good romance!

Forever in My Heart is the story of two former lovers caught in the middle of a family conflict, Romeo and Juliet style I loved the main characters and their zany families were realistic. There's a suspense subplot that adds to the story. Maria Alexander writes sexy and emotional contemporary romances. Don't miss this one!.
Forever in My Heart is a wonderful, absorbing contemporary romance. This is the second book I've read from this author, and the story is even better than the first. Maria K. Alexander does a stupendous job of creating a large, authentic Italian family in an old Philly setting. The author does such a good job of setting up the heroine's initial dislike of the hero as an ass, I had a hard time warming to him. However, he eventually proves himself a true hero who is protective, brave, and willing to sacrifice anything to save his lady.

The story is extremely well written. Plot and pacing are good. Dialogue sounds true to the ear. While the heroine's large, extended family is part of the character of the story, they were a bit too much for me. I'd have preferred more hero-heroine time and fewer intrusive brothers. The chemistry between the heroine and hero was good, and the HEA-ending delivered in spades.
Vickie has her own cafe that she's trying to make a success. She's determined to forget the past and the man who hurt her, Jamie DiSilva. She once thought he was exactly what she needed but that was before he went off and left her behind. Her family doesn't like Jamie or his family because of a problem that happened between the family many years before. Jamie is back in town and determined to make Vicky want him. If only he can get her to forgive him. I had to know if he could change Vicky' s mind.
It moved from one point to the next quickly at times and this made it a little hard to keep up with. I also felt that it had a good ending though it was a little rushed.
I didn't know it was part of a series until after I had read it. If I had read the first book first and knew some of the back story then I might have enjoyed this book more but this book was an okay read on its own.
Temperamental Italian families with protective alpha males, women with sass, family feuds, second chances, and a mystery to solve.
This story just took me right in, and kept the hold till the end, in the early hours of the morning. I felt like I was there with the characters, falling in love, feeling the pain and sorrow of the past, and trying to find the level ground under the feet again after the family tragedies.
The connection between Jamie and Vicky was profound, passionate, and real. They were so perfect together, the past setting the foundation for their love.
The history of the families, the past events, hardship both of the families had gone through, was palpable. The sorrow runs deep on both sides of the fence, some things are just too difficult to forgive and forget, and move forward from. But is it fair to make Jamie pay for his brothers sins?
The character development was definite, one by one the family members were able to let go and move on, accept the past, and remove the guilt and accusations from the innocent parties, as well as their own remorse and shame. Vicky learned to stand up for herself, be seen in her family, learned to live her own life, not the one to please others. Jamie was able to get the acceptance of the town, stand up apart from his brothers, and built a better, healthier relationship with his parents.
The mystery that Jamie's brother Sal left for them to solve puts them in real danger, and the fights against the thugs get rough and bloody.
This is a captivating, delightful story with so many layers, riddled with charming, likable characters, second chances at love and friendship, big families with troubles and sorrow, but most of all love

I love stories about second chances and redemption. Vicky and Jamie are just as sinfully delicious as the desserts featured in this second installment of Maria K. Alexander's Tangled Hearts series. Great conflict, a touch of suspense, family drama and one hot love story!
One sassy heroine - check. One ex-military alpha hero - check. One sizzling, heart-wrenching, viva-Italiano-style read - check.

I read the first book in this series, Untangle My Heart, and was anxiously looking forward to this book (which I read a while ago but never left a review). Forever My Heart doesn't disappoint. I love how the two main characters come to reunite under different circumstances and the sparks that fly when they do.

If you like sweet, heartfelt romances, this book is for you!
This is not your average, light-hearted contemporary romance. Maria K. Alexander injects an earthy grittiness into FOREVER IN MY HEART. The characters are far from perfect, they've all got baggage, and it is these layers that make them so compelling to read about. The wonderful descriptions of Italian food and cooking made me hungry (!) and there's an authenticity to the complicated family relationships that draws you in. Oh, and yes, the romance is spicy and very sexy! Highly recommend!
