I am an avid adventure fiction reader . . . I have an extensive collection of Clive Cussler, Ian Fleming . . . the list goes on. I picked up Buried Lie - An Young Ace Roberts Adventure in the hopes it would rekindle the feeling I got as a young reader. Books like Tom Swift and the Hardy Boys were among my favorites as a kid - and now that I have a daughter who is an avid reader, I wanted to introduce her to the next generation of adventure heroes . . . Buried Lie far surpassed my expectations. Kerry introduces you to characters that you bond with instantly. It's set a few decades in the past, but doesn't get bogged down in trying to establish that setting - brilliantly done. Character interaction and dialog are completely believable and well written . . . and most importantly . . . you care about these characters immediately! It was a very fun read that - at the end - left me eager for more Ace Roberts stories. Can't wait to hand off my copy to my daughter (it's got a terrific, strong female character that I know she's just going to love!).Product details

Hang onto your hat as you read Buried Lie. The book starts off with a bang and the action keeps on coming. I found myself alternating squealing with laughter and biting my fingernails as the book unfolded. Kerry Frey spins a great story line filled with raging rivers, cliffs to climb, paranormal events, and evil to battle. I'm looking forward to the next Ace Roberts adventure.
Buried Lie is a blast! What could be more fun than zombies? Nazi zombies! What is more fun than that? Nazi zombies in half-tracks and tanks, all part of a master scheme by surviving German war criminals to fight a war aimed to establish the once-defeated Reiche once again! I throughly enjoyed the plot twists, the action, biblical references that actually drove the plot, the great characters and the forces of good and evil in constant conflict. Frey delivers a fast-paced, action-filled story with a great message believe and you can do marvelous, miraculous deeds. Ace Roberts is a new Hardy-boy hero, but with skills and determination and delivers total fun! Out of the gate, Buried Lie streaks, never lets up, and keeps you at the edge of your seat. Go Ace!

The prose is brilliant and engrossing, making you feel that you are right in the thick of the action as you follow the exploits of Ace Roberts and his two friends, Brian and Debra. The stellar plot really shines thanks to the novel's characters. The chemistry between Ace, Brian and Debra is amazing. The trio have real friendship between them. You will hold your breath at the dangers they face together and laugh out loud at the jokes and quips they share. The way Kerry Frey manages to convey the rapport between his protagonists is remarkable.
Young Ace is a fantastic role model. He is good-mannered and respectful but has great humor a bit of cheek about him sometimes. His faith, courage and determination ultimately help him triumph against every peril. BURIED LIE is a Christian novel, and it's the subtle touches to Ace's character and actions that make it come together so beautifully as a good versus evil story. Even in the trickiest situations, God guides him and rewards Ace's perseverance as he attempts to save his father.
A word must be said on the superb artwork throughout the book. BURIED LIE is a vivid novel, but the illustrations give it an extra sparkle, and such attention to detail is great to see.
Whether you're searching for a young adult thriller, looking to relive your childhood dreams of adventure, or longing for a kind, feel-good story, this book is for you. From the moment I finished the last page, I've been waiting to meet Ace, Brian and Debra again. I'd love to see how the series develops. While age caught up with other adventure heroes like Dirk Pitt or Indiana Jones, Ace has got time on his side. A few books from now he could become a terrific young man fighting evil. In the meantime, I'm really looking forward to re-reading BURIED LIE as I await the new adventures of a teenage Ace Roberts!

This was great writing with a story that grabbed the readers attention and held it firmly. I really enjoyed this one.
A wonderful action adventure story aimed at the younger reader but one easily enjoyed by adults as well. I found the young Ace Roberts to be something of a Dirk Pitt mixed in with a bit of a young Indiana Jones. The technical writing is well researched while the fictional stuff is entertaining and imaginative. A wonderful first effort from this new author. I'm looking forward to whatever comes next, seriously!
Buried Lie is a wild ride, filled with great characters and action, action, action. Kids young and old will get hooked immediately, as Kerry Frey weaves an intricate plot using snappy, wise-cracking young heros and dispicable Nazi villians bent on world domination that will leave you laughing and cheering. I particulary enjoyed the appearance of historical figures, the great descriptions and the mixture of technology with the spiritual. That is not easily done! Ace Roberts starts fast, moves fast, and never lets up. And it has zombies, which we all love!
